Hello,

We are trying to test out our DC motor using the SOLO MEGA with the motion terminal before we continue on with a raspberry pi. We haven't been able to get the motor to move while connected to the motion terminal so far. Initially we were able to set up the terminal with the motor set as DC and sensors set as sensorless. We could manually move the motor and get an RPM reading, but were not getting any response from the motor through the terminal itself. We assumed this was because the STO was not connected so we wired to bypass the STO. Now when we connect to the motion terminal there is no option to run the motor as sensorless anymore.

We are testing the motor with a 12V battery, which connected straight to the motor does move the motor. I've attached the datasheet of the motor we are using in case this might be helpful.

I am wondering if you can offer some guidance on getting this set up.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @wheelchairguy,

Please use the legacy version of the Motion terminal and see if you can see the sensorless option there, I'll share this with the software team:

Regarding the STO, it must be properly connected to the +5V in any case otherwise the power electronics won't work.

Please test these and let me know if you could get the motor running.

Thanks @milad, The legacy version of the motion terminal seemed to work much better for us once the STO wiring was fixed.
